Compressor Leak Testing (V7 - Direct Mount)

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
^ J 39893 Pressure Test Adaptor
^ J 43600 ACR 2000 Air Conditioning Service Center




1. With the sealing washers in place, install J 39893 on the rear head of the A/C compressor.
2. Connect the gage charging lines and J 43600.
3. Pressurize the suction and the high-side of the A/C compressor with R-134a refrigerant.
4. With the A/C compressor in a horizontal position, rotate by hand the A/C compressor shaft in the operating direction.
Rotate the shaft several times.
5. Using J 39400, inspect for leaks at the following locations:
5.1. The pressure relief valve
5.2. The rear head switch
5.3. The front head seal
5.4. The rear head seal
5.5. The through bolt head gaskets
5.6. The A/C compressor shaft seal
6. Perform the measures necessary to correct any external leaks.
7. Inspect for leaks following any repair.
8. Recover the refrigerant.
9. Disconnect the hoses from J 39893 and remove J 39893.
