Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (IP) Upper

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the windshield garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.

Important: Remove the instrument panel (IP) upper trim panel slowly, the retainer clips could fall into the IP.


2. Lift the IP upper trim panel up approximately 51 mm (2 in) and pull backwards to release IP upper trim panel retainers.
3. Rotate the daytimerunning lamp (DRL) ambient light sensor (1) counterclockwise. Remove the DRL ambient light sensor from the IP upper trim panel.
4. Rotate the sunload sensor (2) counterclockwise. Remove the sunload sensor from the IP upper trim panel.




5. Remove the IP upper trim panel.


Installation Procedure





1. Position the sunload sensor into the opening in the IP upper trim panel. Rotate the sensor clockwise to secure.
2. Position the DRL ambient light sensor into the opening in the IP upper trim panel. Rotate the sensor clockwise to secure.




3. Align the upper trim locating pins and the retainers to the slots in the instrument panel.
4. Push forward and down on the IP upper trim panel to lock into place.
5. Install the windshield garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
