Ambient Light Sensor: Service and Repair

DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL) AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings.

IMPORTANT: Lift the instrument panel (IP) upper trim panel carefully. The retainer clips could tall into the IP.

2. Lift the IP upper trim panel approximately 51 mm (2 in) and pull towards you to release the retainers from the IP upper trim panel.
3. Rotate the daytime running lamp (DRL) ambient light sensor (1) counterclockwise. Remove the DRL ambient light sensor from the IP upper trim panel.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the DRL ambient light sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector to the DRL ambient light sensor.
2. Install the DRL ambient light sensor to the IP upper trim panel. Rotate the sensor clockwise to secure.
3. Align the IP upper trim panel retainers with the slots in the IP. Push forward and down on the IP upper trim panel to lock into place.
4. Install the windshield garnish moldings.
