License Plate Lamp: Service and Repair
LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim screws from the rear compartment lid.
3. Remove the rear compartment lid trim from the rear compartment lid.
4. Reach through the access opening on the underside of the rear compartment lid and depress the license lamp retainers to release.
5. Push the license lamp out from the rear compartment lid.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the license lamp.
7. Release the license lamp lens retaining tabs, then remove the lens from the license lamp base, if replacing the bulb.
8. Remove the license lamp bulb from the socket, if replacing the bulb.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the license lamp bulb to the lamp socket, if removed.
2. Align the license lamp lens to the license lamp base, then press to secure the retaining tabs, if removed.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the license lamp.
4. Align the license lamp assembly to the opening in the rear compartment lid, then press to secure the retaining tabs.
5. Install the rear compartment lid trim to the rear compartment lid.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the rear compartment lid trim screws.
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid trim screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
7. Close the rear compartment.
