Headlamp: Service and Repair

HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY OR HEADLAMP BULB AND/OR CORNERING, SIDEMARKER, PARK, TURN SIGNAL BULB REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Halogen Bulb Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the front air deflector.




3. Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp in place while releasing the retainers.
4. Lift up the headlamp retainers to release.
5. Remove the headlamp from the mounting panel.




6. Remove the sidemarker lamp bulb/socket from the headlamp by rotating counterclockwise.




7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp.




8. Remove the turn signal lamp bulb/socket from the headlamp by rotating counterclockwise.




9. Remove the rubber access covers from behind the headlamp bulbs to be replaced.




10. Remove the headlamp bulb/socket from the headlamp by rotating counterclockwise.




11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp bulb/socket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp bulb/socket.




2. Install the headlamp bulb/socket to the headlamp rotating clockwise until fully seated.




3. Install the rubber access covers to the headlamp.




4. Install the turn signal lamp bulb/socket to the headlamp rotating clockwise until fully seated.




5. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp.




6. Install the sidemarker lamp bulb/socket to the headlamp rotating clockwise until fully seated.




7. Position the headlamp mounting tabs to the slots in the upper fascia support and the fender reinforcement.
8. Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp in place while installing the retainers.
9. Align the headlamp retainers over the headlamp mounting tabs, then press the retainers down until fully seated.
10. Inspect the headlamp for proper fit.
11. Install the front air deflector.
12. Close the hood.
13. Check and adjust the headlamp aim as necessary. Refer to Headlamp Aiming.
