DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS

CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS RECALL #464 -- CO AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD


^ This recall applies only to 1986 Plymouth and Dodge Colt equipped with a 1.5L carbureted engine and California Emission Control System.


^ The service procedure requires:


^ Installation of a carburetor choke adjustment shim

^ Installation of an intermediate harness

^ Inspection and (if required) replacement of cracked exhaust manifold

^ Installation of a recall completion label.


^ The California Air Resources Board (CARB) will be performing an audit of vehicles serviced for this recall.


Failure to perform all steps of the recall service procedure completely and accurately may cause emissions noncompliance. The CARB considers failure to properly perform emissions recall procedures to be a violation which may subject the servicing dealer to a significant fine.


^ A service procedure checklist is provided on the reverse side of the Instruction

Sheet enclosed with each Emissions Service Parts Package, PN C3940380. The servicing technician should complete, sign and date the checklist, to be retained by the dealership as a permanent record of recall service completion.
