1B Output Circuits of Logic Module
1. Connect diagnostic read-out tool to engine test connector.
2. Put system into ATM test mode.
3. Enter Test Code 04 and observe radiator fan operation:
a. If radiator fan cycles on and off every two seconds, proceed to step 5 on models less A/C or step 4 on models with A/C.
b. If radiator fan does not run but relay is clicking, check and repair radiator fan motor circuit as necessary.
c. If radiator fan does run and relay does not click, replace the relay.
4. Enter Test Code 05, then press A/C button on and listen for operation of A/C cutout relay:
a. If relay is clicking, proceed to step 5.
b. If A/C relay does not click, replace the relay.
5. Enter Test Code 07 and listen for operation of canister purge solenoid:
a. On models equipped with man. transaxle or 4-153 engine models with auto. transaxle, if relay is heard clicking, proceed to step 6.
b. If relay does not click, replace the relay.
6. Enter Test Code 10. On models with man. transaxle, the shift indicator lamp should be cycling On and Off. On 4-153 engine models with auto. transaxle, listen for operation of transmission lock-up solenoid:
a. On models with man. transaxle, if shift indicator lamp is cycling On and Off, proceed to Test 1 step D. 1D Switch Inputs to Logic Module If shift indicator lamp is not cycling On and Off, proceed to Test 1 step C. 1C Shift Indicator Lamp Circuit
b. On 4-153 engine models with auto. transaxle, if solenoid is heard clicking, proceed to Test 1 step C. 1C Shift Indicator Lamp Circuit If solenoid does not click, replace the solenoid.
