Camshaft Position Sensor: Description and Operation

The cam reference sensor is located on top of engine timing chain cover. This sensor reads cam shaft position, then sends a signal to the SBEC. The SBEC uses this signal in combination with the Crank Timing Sensor signal to determine if fuel injectors and ignition coils are sequenced properly.
