Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

The fuel pump is a mechanical lever operated diaphragm type pump. It is located on the right front of the block and is actuated by an eccentric on the front of the camshaft. The pump supplies fuel to the carburetor at a constant pressure of 5.8-7.3 psi at idle, controlled by means of an integral pressure regulating check valve.
