REMOVAL STEPS
1. Steering wheel
2. Lap air outlet
3. Column cover lower
4. Column cover upper
5. Shift knob (Manual transaxle)
6. Floor console assembly
7. Glove box
8. Defroster duct
9. Side joint
10. Meter hood
11. Meter case
12. Column bracket
13. Heater control panel
14. Heater control panel assembly mounting screws
15. Cover
16. Instrument panel
NOTE: Reverse the removal procedures to reinstall.
SERVICE POINTS OF REMOVAL
2. Removal Of Lap Air Outlet
Remove the lap air outlet.
3. Removal Of Column Cover
1. Remove the lower column cover.
2. Disconnect the light switch and wiper switch connectors.
3. Remove the upper column cover.
6. Removal Of Floor Console Assembly
Remove the screws shown in the illustration.
7. Removal Of Glove Box
1. Open the glove box and carefully but quickly pull up on the right corner of the glove box to remove the right glove box hinge pin from the half hinge.
2. Slide the glove box toward the passenger door to remove it from the dash panel.
10. Removal Of Meter Hood
Remove the meter hood attaching screws and clips and remove the meter hood from the instrument panel.
11. Removal Of Meter Case
Remove the meter case mounting screws, pull the case slightly toward you, disconnect the speedometer cable and all connectors, and then remove the meter case from the instrument panel.
12. Removal Of Column Bracket
Remove the column bracket.
13. Removal Of Heater Control Panel
From the back side of the control panel, push the right side control panel clip to the right while pushing the control panel out of the dash panel then allow the control panel to hang.
14. Removal Of Heater Control Panel Assembly Mounting Screws
Remove the heater control assembly mounting screws.
NOTE: Without removing the heater control panel assembly connector, remove the control panel assembly to instrument panel mounting screws to disconnect the assembly from the instrument panel.
15. Removal Of Cover
Using the trim stick or the like, remove the cover carefully so as not to cause damage to the instrument panel
16. Removal Of Instrument Panel
Remove the instrument panel mounting bolts and then remove the instrument panel assembly.
SERVICE POINT OF INSTALLATION
16. Installation Of Instrument Panel
1. Reconnect all of the connectors securely.
2. Make sure that the wiring harnesses are not pinched.
