Removal and Installation

Fig. 15 Transfer Assembly Removal:

1. Remove two front exhaust pipe attaching nuts and lower exhaust pipe.
2. Remove transfer assembly mounting bolts.
3. Remove driveshaft by moving transfer assembly to the left and lowering the front side. Suspend driveshaft with a piece of wire.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque transfer assembly mounting bolts to 40-43 lb-ft.
b. Torque front exhaust pipe attaching nuts to 29-43 lb-ft.
