Instrument Cluster / Carrier: Service and Repair

Disable airbag, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair. After procedure has been completed, rearm airbag system.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove cluster bezel as follows:
a. On column shift models, place shift lever in N position.
b. On models with tilt column, adjust tilt to lowest position.
c. On all models, pull cluster bezel rearward to disengage 11 retaining clips, then remove cluster bezel.
3. On column shift models, proceed as follows:
a. Remove lower steering column cover.
b. Disconnect shift indicator wire.
4. On all models, remove four screws attaching cluster to base panel.
5. Pull cluster rearward, reach behind cluster and disconnect wiring harness.
6. Remove cluster assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install, adjusting shift indicator cable on column shift models.
