Hydraulic Release System
Fig. 2 Clutch Pedal Height (A), Freeplay & Clevis Pin Play (B) Measurements:
1. Measure clutch pedal height (A).
2. If not within specifications, adjust as follows:
a. On models less cruise control, loosen locknut and turn adjusting bolt to bring height within specifications.
b. On models with cruise control, loosen locknut and turn clutch switch to bring height within specifications.
3. Measure clutch pedal clevis pin play (B), should be 1.4 to 2.1 inch.
4. If not within specifications, adjust clutch master cylinder push rod as necessary to bring play within specifications. Do not press push rod into master cylinder when adjusting clevis pin clearance.
Fig. 5 Checking Interlock Switch Adjustment:
5. On Colt and Summit models, ensure that when clutch pedal is depressed all the way, 5.9 inches, interlock switch switches over from On to Off. If necessary, loosen locknut and adjust.
Fig. 4 Clutch Release Point Measurement:
6. On all models, measure clutch pedal free play (B), and clutch pedal to floorboard clearance at clutch release point (C).
7. If clearance and/or free play are not within specifications, hydraulic system requires bleeding or clutch is faulty.
