Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Description and Operation

The Mitsubishi F4A22 is a fully automatic four-speed electronically controlled transaxle. This transaxle is used on Colt and Summit equipped with 1.8L engine, Colt Vista and Summit Wagon equipped with 1.8L engine, Laser and 1994 Talon equipped with 1.8L and 2.0L non-turbo engines.
The transmission provides the following gear ratios:
