SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Customer complaint of radio/clock display is blank, but radio/cassette still continues to function. No other vehicle systems are affected.

DIAGNOSIS:

Inspect the radio face plate to verify the radio model. If it has six station preset buttons and the cassette door has the words "Auto Head Cleaning", proceed to the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves removing the radio and exchanging it with a new one.

1. Before removing the radio from the vehicle, contact the nearest Alpine Radio Exchange Center (refer to page 6F-37 through 6F-50 in the Warranty Policy and Procedure Manual) for an exchange radio.
2. Refer to page 6F-30 and 6F-31 in the Warranty Policy and Procedure Manual for proper claim processing. Note on the EMCR (Equipment Manufacturer's Claim Request) that the "radio display was blank".
3. When the exchange radio is available, remove and replace the radio as outlined in the appropriate Service Manual.

POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
