Wind Noise at B-Post Belt Line

MODELS:
1995 (PL) Neon

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 2/15/94, MDH 021501.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Wind noise at the rear edge of front side glass at the B-Post near the belt line. The noise can be described as a "whispery" type sound and occurs at freeway speeds typically in excess of 55 mph.

PARTS REQUIRED:

AR 6502328 Push Pin

AR 4318028 Vinyl Foam Tape

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves adding vinyl foam tape under the B-Post body seal on one or both sides of the vehicle.





1. Remove the black push pin from the B-Post seal and pull back the seal to expose the B-Post (See Illustration).

2. Cut a 2 inch long piece of vinyl foam tape, P/N 4318028, and attach it to the B Post in the area identified in the illustration.

3. Re-install the B-Post seal and ensure that the foam tape is not visible from the outside. Secure the seal in place with a new push pin, P/N 4658673.

4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the opposite side if required.
