Radiator Fan Module
DESCRIPTIONThe fan module consists of a single cooling fan, a two speed electric motor, and one piece shroud that supports the fan and motor. The fan module is secured to the radiator by fasteners with clips and at lower attachment points. The fan is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) which energizes the fan relay.
OPERATION
The radiator fan will operate at two speeds based on inputs to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM provides a ground to either the low or high speed fan relay control circuit. Refer to DIAGRAMS for circuit schematics.
The inputs provided to the PCM that influence fan operation are:
^ Coolant Temperature Sensor
^ A/C Pressure Transducer
For fan operation specifications, refer to Specifications-Radiator Fan Operation.
