Odometer: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove instrument panel top cover.
3. Remove cluster.
4. Remove the back cover and release the flex circuit strips.

5. Release mask/lens retaining lock tabs by depressing and remove mask/lens (Fig. 3).
6. Remove four cluster back cover retaining screws and remove cover.
7. Disconnect the speedometer wire connector.

8. Remove three screws attaching speedometer to housing (Fig. 4).
9. Release trip reset button.

10. Pull the speedometer free of the PC board and use care removing the wire connector through the housing (Fig. 5).

INSTALLATION
1. Power the speedometer into the pc board while feeding the wire pigtail through the housing.
2. Install the trip reset button.
3. Install the three screws retaining the speedometer to the housing.
4. Connect the wire harness connector.
5. Install the back cover.
6. Install the mask/lens.
7. Install the instrument cluster into the instrument panel.
8. Install the instrument panel top cover.
9. Connect the battery negative cable.
