1. With ignition switch in Run position and engine off, observe "Charge" light, which should illuminate.
2. If "Charge" light is not lit, check condition of GAUGES fuse and replace if necessary.
3. If GAUGES fuse is satisfactory, confirm glow plug operation by listening for clicking noise from relay.
4. If relay operates, check pink/black wire between fuse block and splice S204 for a short or open and repair as necessary, Fig. 2. If wire is satisfactory, proceed to step 6.
5. If relay does not operate, check pink wires between ignition switch and fuse block for a short or open and repair as necessary. If wires are satisfactory, proceed to step 6.
6. Disconnect electrical connector from "Wait" lamp control relay. Connect jumper wire between ground and dark blue wire at connector, and observe "Wait" light, which should illuminate.
7. If "Wait" light is not lit, check condition of lamp bulb and replace if necessary.
8. If lamp bulb is satisfactory, check dark blue wire between "Wait" lamp control relay electrical connector and "Wait" lamp, and the pink/blue wire between "Wait" lamp and splice S204 for a short or open, and repair as necessary. If wires are satisfactory, proceed to step 9.
9. Using suitable test lamp, check ground connection at G104. Attach one end of test lamp to red wire terminal of Glow Plug Relay and the other end to the black wire lead of "Wait" lamp control relay.
10. If lamp does not light, circuit is satisfactory. If lamp lights, replace "Wait" lamp control relay.
