A/C Compressor Clutch Test

A/C Compressor Clutch Test:






1. With the connector removed from the A/C Cut-Off Relay, connect a fused jumper between terminals B and D.

Put the A/C Mode Selector in NORM and the Ignition Switch in RUN but do not start the engine.

^ If the A/C Compressor Clutch engages (loud click), the clutch and A/C Control Assembly circuits are OK. Proceed to ECM Compressor Control Test. ECM Compressor Control Test
^ If clutch does not engage, proceed to Step 2.

2. Leave the jumper in place on the relay and measure the voltage to ground at the A/C Compressor Clutch with the clutch connector in place.

^ If voltages are correct but clutch does not engage, replace the Compressor Clutch Coil.
^ If Battery voltage is not present at terminal B, repair open in DK GRN wire (59).
^ If voltage is incorrect at terminal A, remove the connector from the A/C High Pressure Cut-Off Switch and connect a fused jumper between terminals A and B of the connector. If clutch engages, replace the A/C High Pressure Cut-Off Switch. If clutch does not engage, check the BLK/WHT wire (153) and BLK wire (150) for an open.
