1986 PONTIAC 'F' FIREBIRDLiquid Crystal Display Instrument Cluster:

1. BASE TELLTALE & GAGE PACKAGE CLUSTERS

All instrument cluster components except the speedometer and tachometer will continue to be serviced by the car dealer. Replacement parts should be obtained through WDDGM. The speedometer and tachometer must be serviced only through AC-Delco authiorized service centers. See dealer bulletin 86-SM 4@A and 86-SM-10A for policy and warranty information.

2. ELECTRONIC CLUSTERS (Liquid Crystal Display - available after January 1986)

The entire cluster assembly is serviced only by an exchange cluster. There are no serviceable parts. The entire suspect cluster should be returned only to an authorized AC-Delco service center.

These are made by Nippondenso but are serviced only through AC-Delco authorized service centers. See dealer service bulletin 86-SM-IOA for policy and warranty information.

NOTE: Kent-Moore Tool #J-33431-B, Signal Generator and Instrument Panel Tester will aid in the diagnosis of speedometer, tachometer, fueZ economy displays, fuel level, oiL pressure and temperature, and coolant temperature gages and telltale displays. Electronic clusters can also be analyzed with this tool.
