1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column filler and four screws to instrument panel pad, Fig. 49.
3. Remove right side trim plate, then one screw inside glove compartment.
4. Using a small flat blade tool remove clips that hold right plate to pad.
5. Remove clips that hold left plate to pad.
6. Disconnect memory seat switch and fog light switch electrical connections, Figs. 50 and 51.
7. Remove two screws from right side cluster pad air outlet, and one screw from left side air outlet.
8. On models with column shift, disconnect shift indicator light, then rotate and pull out of indicator, Fig. 52.
9. On all models, remove cluster trim pad.
10. Remove A/C lower distributor duct or vent duct on vehicles without A/C, Fig. 53.
11. Remove distributor duct.
12. Remove eight screws that hold the instrument cluster to the instrument panel.
13. Pull cluster assembly carefully to the rear and disengage electrical connectors.
14. Using a small flat blade, carefully pry out speaker grilles.

15. Remove defroster grilles, then the glove box lamp and deck release switches, Fig. 54.
16. Remove sound insulation, then disconnect fuse block and convenience center, Fig. 55.
17. Remove four bolts holding ECM to bracket, then disconnect electrical connector and remove ECM, Fig. 56.
18. Remove radio attaching bolts, then disconnect electrical connectors and remove radio.
19. Remove headlight switch, heater and A/C control and multi-function switch.
20. Remove ashtray and lighter, then the two bolts at lower right and left hinge pillar brackets.
21. Remove four bolts in the speaker and defroster duct openings.
22. Remove one bolt at center brace.
23. Remove side window defroster ducts, then park brake release cable.
24. Remove non A/C vent cables.
25. Remove wire harness clips, then remove instrument panel pad, Fig. 57.
26. Reverse procedure to install.
