Test C: Fuel Gage Accuracy Test


TEST C: FUEL GAGE ACCURACY TEST

Disconnect Fuel Tank Unit connector C313. Connect one red lead of a J 33431-B Signal Generator and instrument Panel Tester to C313 terminal B, PPL (30) wire (harness side), and connect the other lead to terminal A, BLK (150) wire (harness side). Turn ignition Switch to RUN. Set the resistance dial of the tester to 0 ohms, 44 ohms, and then to 90 ohms. The Fuel Gage should indicate "E," "1/2" and then "F."

^ If the Fuel Gage responds correctly, replace the Fuel Tank Unit.

^ If the Fuel Gage does not respond correctly, check PPL (30) wire, BLK (150) wire, BLK/WHT (450) wire and instrument Cluster Printed Circuit for high resistance. Repair/replace Fuel Gage if the wires and Printed Circuit are good
