Unlocking Unit After Power Loss

TO UNLOCK RADIO AFTER POWER LOSS
If while in the SECURE state, the battery power is interrupted, the unit will become inoperable and the display will show "LOC" whenever ignition is on. The indicator light will blink at all times while in the "LOC" condition with battery power applied. The following steps are used to unlock the unit.

With battery and ignition voltages applied and radio off:
1. Using the "HR" and "MIN" buttons, enter the user code number. The initial key press of either button will cause the display to indicate "000", the last three digits of the 3 1/2 digit user code. Subsequent key presses of the "HR" button will cause the left 1 1/2 digits to increment and depressing the "MIN" button will cause the right two digits to increment. The digits will continuously increment at a rate of once every 1 second for the first two increments and then once every 250 m/sec, as long as the button is depressed. The digits will also increment by one with every momentary depression.
2. Depress the AM/FM button. If the unlock sequence was successful (the numbers matched either the user selected code or the factory backup code), the display will show "SEC" for 15 seconds then TOD, indicating the unit is operational and in the SECURE state. The indicator will now blink only when the ignition is off. If the display shows "LOC", the numbers did not match and the unlock sequence was unsuccessful.

After an initial eight failed tries to unlock, the unit will be in a second level LOCK condition and become inoperative for an hour. Any further code inputs during this hour will cause the display to indicate "InOP" for 15 seconds before returning to "LOC". Battery and ignition voltages must be present for an hour before the unit will reset to the "LOC" condition. The unit will then time out for an hour after every successive three incorrect entries.
