Circuit Operation - Interior Lights

When a door is opened or the Head/Park Lamp Switch is operated, a ground path is provided to light the footwell, rail, header courtesy and the door courtesy lamps.

The front door flood lamps come on with the Head/Park Lamp Switch and "HEAD" or "PARK." Voltage is also applied to the engine compartment lamp. It lights when its switch closes, providing a ground path.

The Console Shift Lamp comes on with the Ignition Switch in "RUN." Voltage is applied at all times to the cigar lighters and the I/P compartment lamp which lights when the I/P compartment is opened, closing its switch and providing a ground path.

The luggage compartment lamp comes on when the luggage compartment lid is opened, closing its switch and providing a ground path.

The vanity mirror lamps come on when the visor is lowered, closing its cover switch.

The rail and dome/reading lamps come on when the respective switch is closed, providing a path to ground.
