Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights
TRY FOLLOWING CHECKS.1. If Vehicle is equipped with Illuminated Entry, refer to diagnosis.
2. If courtesy lamps and luggage compartment lamp do not light, check I/P Fuse Block Fuse 6A.
3. If only one interior lamp does not operate, check bulb, socket and related wiring.
4. If only one door does not operate the Interior Lamp, check suspect Door Lock/Latch Assembly and related wiring for an open; check suspect Door Lock/Latch Assembly and in-line connectors for proper terminal contact (see schematic).
5. If Interior Lamps light when a door is opened, but not when Head/Park Lamp Switch is operated, check WHT (156) and BLK (1250) wiring for an open (see schematic); check Head/Park Lamp Connectors C1 and C3, and in-line Connector C200 (terminal B6) for proper terminal contact. If all OK, replace Head/Park Lamp Switch.
6. If a Cigar Lighter does not operate, check for corrosion or element damage. Check for voltage at socket with a test lamp. If test lamp lights, replace Cigar Lighter.
7. If interior lamps do not turn off, check for a closed Lock/ Door Latch Assembly, Head/Park Lamp Switch or WHT (156) wiring for a short to ground (see schematic).
