Circuit Operation
When either front door handle is operated, terminal C1/K of the remote accessory control
(RAC) module is grounded. This signals the RAC module to turn on its output at C1/J, grounding the interior lamps relay coil, and energizing the
relay. With the relay energized, its contacts close to provide a round path for the interior courtesy lamps. The interior lamps turn on. If any door is left open, the interior lamps remain on for approximately
10 minutes. If all doors are closed before the
10 minutes expire, the RAC Module senses that ground is removed from terminal C1/C. This initiates a timing cycle that keeps the interior lamps on for an additional
25 seconds. If the Ignition Switch is turned to RUN before the
25 seconds expire, the RAC Module senses battery voltage at terminal C1/B and turns off the interior lamps.
