Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check Fuses 10, 19, 32 and 39 by visual inspection.
2. Check for mechanical binds in the Door Lock System.
3. If one of the Door Lock Motors does not operate properly, but the other Door Lock Motors function normally, check the wiring to the suspect motor. if the wiring is correct, check for a poor connection. if OK, replace the motor.
4. Check that grounds G113, G201 and G302 are clean and tight.
5. Check that the Dome Light Switch is in the "OFF" position.

IMPORTANT: For diagnosis of Power Door Locks on vehicles equipped with Keyless Entry, refer to Keyless Entry. Testing and Inspection

^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
