Park/Neutral (P/N) Switch

Transmission Range Switch:

The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch indicates to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when the transmission is in park, neutral or drive. This information is used for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve operation.

CAUTION: Vehicle should not be driven with park/neutral position switch disconnected, as idle quality will be affected and a possible false Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 24 (Vehicle speed Sensor) may set.

The PNP switch is part of the Transaxle Range Switch switch assembly.
