Compressor Replacement








Remove or Disconnect

1. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Recover refrigerant.
4. Coolant recovery reservoir.
5. Serpentine belt.
6. Engine torque strut.
7. Engine torque strut bracket at frame.
8. Engine cooling fan retaining bolts right and left sides.
9. Upper radiator and fan module assembly.
10. Electrical connections from both engine cooling fans.
11. A/C hoses with fitting from compressor.
12. Electrical connections from A/C compressor.
13. Rear compressor retaining bolts.
14. Front compressor retaining bolts.
15. Compressor.
16. Compressor bracket, if necessary, by removing bracket-to-engine bolts.

Install or Connect

1. Bracket, if removed.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 47 Nm (35 lb. ft.).

2. Compressor.
3. Front compressor retaining bolts.

^ Do not tighten at this time.

4. Rear compressor retaining bolts.

Tighten
^ Front retaining bolts to 49 Nm (36 lb. ft.).
^ Rear retaining bolts to 25 Nm (19 lb. ft.).

5. Electrical connections to compressor.
6. A/C hoses with fitting to compressor using new sealing washers.

Tighten
^ Nut to 33 Nm (24 lb. ft.).

7. Engine cooling fans and upper radiator and fan module assembly.
8. Engine torque strut bracket to frame.
9. Engine torque strut.
10. Serpentine belt.
11. Coolant recovery reservoir.
12. Negative battery cable.

Tighten
^ Cable to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).

13. Evacuate, charge and leak test system.
14. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
