Vinyl Material Separates From Door Trim Panel at Beltline (Add a Beltline Strip to Door Trim Panel)

This bulletin is being revised to add an "Important" statement to the Correction Procedure. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 63-16-06 (Section 10 - Body).
Condition
Some owners may comment that the vinyl material separates from the door trim panel at the beltline.
Cause
When vehicles are subject to heat, vinyl material may separate from door trim panel.
Correction
To correct this condition, add a beltline strip (Figure 1, Item 1) to door trim panel (Figure 1, Item 2) using the following procedure:
Important:
For sedans - beltline strip needs to be trimmed to fit.
Important:
^ Add a beltline Strip to all doors for uniformity.
^ If vinyl material shrinks to the point of not being able to pull vinyl material and install beltline strip, a new door trim panel must be ordered and installed.
1. Remove door trim panel (Figure 1, Item 2) at beltline by applying pressure in the inboard direction to disengage beltline hooks from door inner beltline slots.
2. Install beltline strip (Figure 1, Item 1) to door trim panel (Figure 1, Item 2) starting at front of door trim panel.
3. Install door trim panel (Figure 1, Item 2) at beltline.
