Circuit Operation
With the
Headlamp Switch "PARK" or "HEAD" and the Fog Lamp Switch "OFF," a reduced voltage is applied to the Fog Lamps through the resistance wire and the Fog LPS Relay. The Fog Lamps glow at reduced brilliance. With the Headlamp Switch in "PARK" or "HEAD" and the Fog Lamp Switch "ON," battery voltage is applied to the Fog LPS Relay coil. The coil is grounded through the HI Beam filaments. The relay energizes, bypassing the resistance wire, and applies battery voltage directly to the Fog Lamps. The Fog Lamps glow at full brilliance. Since the coil of the Fog LPS Relay is grounded through the HI Beam filaments, the, relay will de-energize any time the HI Beams are on because battery voltage is applied to both sides of the relay coil. With the relay de-energized, the Fog Lamps will again glow at reduced brilliance.
