Exhaust Noise
POSSIBLE CAUSE: CORRECTION1. Exhaust pipes contacting heat shields, or shields loose. Inspect cold and after warm-up: Tighten heat shield bolts/screws to specifications. Align exhaust system if necessary.
2. Leaks at manifold or pipe connections: Tighten clamps at leaking connections to specifications.
3. Burned or blown out muffler: Replace muffler.
4. Burned or rusted out exhaust pipe: Replace exhaust pipe.
5. Leaking exhaust pipe at manifold flange: Tighten exhaust pipe nuts to specifications.
6. Cracked or broken manifold: Replace manifold.
7. Leak between manifold and cylinder head: Tighten manifold-to-cylinder head stud nuts or bolts/screws to specifications.
