Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement

Remove or Disconnect

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions / Vehicle Damage Warnings / Fastener Requirements.

CAUTION: Refer to Service Precautions / Technician Safety Information.

1. Instrument panel insulators.
2. Windshield side upper garnish moldings.
3. Drive knee bolster and deflector.
4. Disable SIR.

NOTICE: Remove stoplamp switch before fully lowering the steering column. Failure to do so may cause the stoplamp switch to become damaged or thrown out of adjustment resulting in a malfunctioning stoplamp switch or premature brake wear.

5. Stoplamp switch.
6. Steering column.
^ gently lower steering column.
7. Instrument panel upper trim panel
8. Instrument panel accessory trim plate.
9. Radio.
10. Instrument cluster.
11. Heater and air conditioning control.
12. Left side ducts.
13. Front floor console.
14. Fuse block.
15. Data link connector.
16. Instrument panel bolts/screws (9).
17. Instrument panel nuts (8).
18. Reposition instrument panel (40).
19. Air distributor.
20. Wiring harness from carrier.
21. Instrument panel carrier from instrument panel (40).

Install or Connect

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions / Vehicle Damage Warnings / Fastener Requirements.

1. Instrument panel carrier to instrument panel (40).
2. Wiring harness to carrier.
3. Air distributor.
4. Position instrument panel (40).
5. Instrument panel nuts (8).
Tighten
^ Instrument panel nuts (8) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
6. Instrument panel bolts/screws (9).
Tighten
^ Instrument panel bolts/screws (9) to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in).
7. Data link connector.
8. Fuse block.
9. Front floor console.
10. Left side ducts.
11. Heater and air conditioning control.
12. Radio.
13. Instrument panel accessory trim plate.
14. Instrument panel upper trim panel.
15. Steering column.
^ Gently raise steering column into place.
16. Stoplamp switch.
17. Enable SIR.
18. Driver knee bolster and deflector.
19. Windshield side upper garnish moldings.
20. Instrument panel insulators.
