C1282

DTC C1282; Calibration Malfunction:

Circuit Description
This DTC allows the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) to check for a calibration failure by comparing the calibration value to a known value stored in the EBCM's memory.
This test is also used as a security measure to prevent improper use of calibrations or changes to these calibrations that may alter the designed function of ABS.

Conditions for Setting the DTC
DTC C1282 can be set anytime. A malfunction exists if the internal memory calibration is incorrect.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
A malfunction DTC is stored, ABS is disabled, and the amber ABS indicator lamp is turned ON. The red BRAKE warning lamp is turned ON if the rear piston in the motor pack is not expected to be in the home position.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
^ Conditions for the malfunction are no longer present and the Tech 2 scan tool Clear DTC Information function is used.
^ One hundred drive cycles have passed with no malfunctions detected.

Diagnostic Aids
An intermittent DTC C1282 is most likely caused by a malfunctioning EBCM that is sensitive to temperature changes. If DTC C1282 occurred more than once, but is intermittent, replace the EBCM.

The frequency of the malfunction can be checked by using the Enhanced Diagnostic function of the Tech 2 scan tool, as described in Enhanced Diagnostics.
