Parking Brake System: Adjustments

Important:
- Ensure the following conditions are met before cable adjustment:
- No air is trapped in brake system. Refer to Bleeding Brake Hydraulic System in Brakes.
- Brake pedal travel is within specifications. Refer to Bleeding Brake Hydraulic System in Brakes. Manuel Bleeding
- Brake pedal has been pressed 3 to 10 times with about 30 kg (66 lbs.) load.
- Parking brake lever has been pulled up 3 to 10 times with about 20 kg (44 lbs.) force and completely released.
- Rear brake shoes are not worn beyond limit and self-adjusting mechanism operates properly.

Remove or Disconnect
1. Parking brake lever trim bezel.

Adjust
^ Loosen or tighten locknut until parking brake is applied with 3 to 6 clicks and 20 kg (44 lbs.) of force.

Install or Connect
^ Parking brake lever trim bezel.
