With HVAC System - Automatic
1. Check the RADIO Fuse and the DIC/HVAC Fuse for an open.2. Make sure that G200 is clean and tight.
3. If the Air Door Motor is displaced from its proper position, it will automatically calibrate itself to the proper position if the battery power is removed from the HVAC Control Assembly. To recalibrate the Air Door Motor, disconnect then reconnect the battery.
4. Check manifold vacuum at the black hose from the Engine to the Vacuum Tank.
5. Check for vacuum at the vacuum hose from the Vacuum Tank to the Vacuum/Electric Solenoid.
6. Check the vacuum hoses from the Vacuum Actuators to the Vacuum/Electric Solenoid for being connected and in good condition.
7. If Rear Defogger does not operate properly or is inoperative, refer to Rear Defogger. Heated Glass Element
8. If Steering wheel Control functions do not operate, but Heater-A/C Control functions properly, refer to Steering Wheel Controls. Testing and Inspection
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
^ Refer to System Diagnosis.
