Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights Dimming

1. Make sure all Park Lamps turn on and off normally before proceeding with diagnostic; refer to Exterior Lights for Park Lamp diagnosis. Testing and Inspection
2. If none of the Interior Lamps illuminate, check the PARK LP Fuse.
3. If Interior Lamps stay ON all the time, but the Park Lamps operate normally, repair short to B+ in CKT 8.
4. If one Interior Lamp does not operate, check CKT 8 and CKT 1450 to the suspect Interior Lamp for an open, bent terminals, etc. If OK, replace the Interior Lamp bulb.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
^ Refer to System Diagnosis.
