General Information

There are three different types of Body Control Module's (BCM), referred to as types 2, 3, and 4. The BCM-2 provides Illumination Control, Inadvertent Load Control, Chime/Warning functions, Retained Accessory Power, control of the vehicle's Power Door Locks including Lockout Prevention, Last Door Closed Locking, Automatic Door Lock, and Automatic Door Unlock functions.

The BCM-3 provides the features of MALL-2 subsystems, and adds functions designed to allow the MALL subsystem to work with a Remote Keyless Entry subsystem.

The BCM-4 provides all the functions of the MALL-2, and MALL-3 subsystems and adds Remote Activation Verification, Remote Alarm, and Content Theft Deterrent System functions.
