Compressor and/or Mounting Brackets
Due to the limited clearance on the 5.7L VIN G engine, it is recommended that the compressor he serviced after the compressor is removed from the vehicle.Compressor:

Important
^ Compressor related noise is generally A/C system related and not always the compressor itself.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
3. Serpentine drive belt and tensioner.
4. Bolts/screws.
5. Hose from compressor.
^ Discard seals.
6. Transmission oil cooler pipes at engine, if necessary.
7. Electrical connector from compressor.
Install or Connect
1. Polyalkaline glycol (PAG) refrigerant oil.
^ If compressor (2) is being replaced, drain refrigerant oil from both defective compressor and new replacement compressor. Measure amount removed from defective compressor. If measured amount is less than 30 ml (1 fluid ounce), add 60 ml (2 fluid ounces) to new replacement compressor. If more that 30 ml (1 fluid ounce) is drained from defective compressor add same amount to new compressor. Use PAG refrigerant oil GM P/N 12345923 or equivalent.
2. Compressor.
3. Bolts/screws.
Tighten
^ Bolts/screws to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
4. Electrical connector to compressor.
5. Transmission oil cooler pipes at engine, if necessary.
6. Seals to hose.
^ Lightly coat seals with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
7. Hose to compressor.
8. Bolt/screw.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 33 N.m (24 lb. ft.).
9. Bolt/screw.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
10. Serpentine drive belt and tensioner.
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Charge A/C system.
13. Leak-test A/C system.
