Knee Diverter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the steering column opening filler.
3. Remove the alarm shock sensor connection, it equipped.
4. Remove the bolts/screws from the knee bolster bracket at the instrument panel.
5. Remove the bolts/screws from the knee bolster bracket at the steering column support.
6. Remove the knee bolster bracket from the instrument panel.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the knee bolster bracket to the instrument panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts/screws to the knee bolster bracket at the steering column support.

Tighten
Tighten the knee bolster bracket bolts/screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the bolts/screws to the knee bolster bracket at the instrument panel.

Tighten
Tighten the knee bolster bracket bolts/screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the alarm shock sensor connection, it equipped.
5. Install the steering column opening filler.
6. Install the left instrument panel insulator.
