Cylinder Head - Disassemble

CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLE
^ Tools Required
- J8062 Valve Spring Compressor J36017 Valve Guide Seal Remover





1. Remove the coolant outlet.
2. Remove valve train components.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the valve train components are kept together and identified in order for proper re-installation in their original position.





3. Compress the valve spring. Use the J8062.





4. Remove the valve keys.
5. Slowly release the J8062 from the valve spring assembly.
6. Remove the retainer.
7. Remove the spring.
8. Remove the spring seat (exhaust only).

NOTICE: Do not damage the valve guide. Remove any burrs that have formed at the key groove by chamfering the valve stem with an oil stone or a file.





9. Remove the valve seal. Use the J36017.
10. Remove the rotator (intake only).
11. Remove the valve.
12. Remove the remaining valves.
