Cruise Control Switch

IMPORTANT: Unless the SET button has been previously activated during the current ignition cycle, the resume/accel mode (R/A) will not function.

The off/on/resume/accel switch has 3 positions. This switch turns the cruise control system on and off. After braking, when the driver momentarily moves the control toward the R/A position, the switch returns the cruise control operation to the last speed set. If the driver holds the switch in the R/A position for more than 1 second, the system reverts to the accel mode.

In order to accelerate the vehicle, move the slider switch to the R/A position. Hold the switch until the vehicle reaches the desired speed. When the driver releases the slider switch, the current speed becomes the new cruise speed. In order to use the accel mode, the cruise off/on/resume/accel switch must be in the ON position. Also, the vehicle must be above the low speed lockout of 40 km/h (25 mph).

Complete the following steps in order to "tap-up" the vehicle speed:
1. Move the cruise off/on/resume/accel switch to the ON position. Set a cruise speed.
2. Quickly press and release the slide switch toward the R/A position.
3. Do not hold the lever in the R/A position or the system reverts to the accel mode.

"Tap-up" is a function in which cruise speed may be increased by 0.62 km/h (1 mph) increments (one tap = 1 mph).
