Troubleshooting Hints
1. Check If the Daytime Running Lamps do not turn off with Headlamp Switch in the OFF position and Park Brake applied.2. If the Daytime Running Lamps remain on with the Ignition Switch in the OFF position, replace the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Relay with known good relay. If problem is not corrected, check for a short to ground in circuit 593. If OK, replace the Instrument Panel Cluster.
3. If the Daytime Running Lamps do not operate properly, check lamp, connections, and wires to lamp.
4. Check If the High Beam Indicator does not operate properly.
5. If the High Beam Indicator flashes, replace the failed headlamp. Refer to Composite Headlamp Replacement. Headlamp
6. If the left, right, or both headlamps remain lit with Ignition in the OFF position, check for a short to ground the 1200 circuit and the 1201 circuit. If OK, Replace the Turn/Hazard Headlamp Switch Assembly.
7. Check LHDLP and RHDLP Fuses.
8. If the BRAKE Indicator is lit with Ignition Switch in the RUN position and Park Brake released, refer to Hydraulic Brakes in Brakes. Brakes and Traction Control
9. If Park Lamps do not operate, refer to Exterior Lights. Testing and Inspection
10. If the Low Beam and the High Beam Headlamps are inoperative, check for an open in circuit 350. If OK, replace the Turn/Hazard Headlamp Switch Assembly.
11. Check that grounds G102, G103 and G105 are tight and clean.
12. If one Headlamp or Fog Lamp does not operate properly, check lamp, connections, and wires to lamp.
^ Check for a broken or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove good in a continuity/voltage check. Refer to Troubleshooting Procedures.
