A/C Purge

Moisture tends to accumulate in the heater and A/C module assembly after the engine has been shut off. Moisture may be expelled from the instrument panel outlets toward front seat occupants when the following actions occur:
^ The engine is restarted.
^ The A/C system turns on.

On start-up, the programmer inspects for indications that moisture accumulation may occur. If moisture accumulation is evident, the programmer initiates the following functions:
1. Energizes the heater solenoid in order to direct air toward the floor
2. Runs the blower at 80 percent of maximum speed for 4 seconds
3. Resumes normal system operation

The system bypasses this mode if one of the following conditions occurs:
^ The blower fan is operating in manual mode.
^ The driver chooses DEFROST mode at start-up.
