Normal Purge

Moisture tends to accumulate in the heater and A/C module assembly after the engine has been shut oft. Moisture may be expelled from the windshield or the instrument panel outlets when the following actions occur:
^ The engine is restarted.
^ The A/C system turns on.

This causes window togging.

On start-up, the programmer inspects for indications that window fogging may occur. If window fogging is evident, the programmer initiates the following functions:
1. Delays the blower operations for 5 seconds
2. Energizes the heater solenoid in order to direct air toward the floor
3. Runs the blower at low speed for 15 seconds
4. Resumes normal system operation

The system bypasses this mode if one of the following conditions occurs:
^ The blower fan is operating in manual mode.
^ The driver chooses the DEFROST mode at start-up.
