Park Brake Actuator Replacement (Disc Brakes)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel.
3. Disconnect the rear brake cable at the equalizer (3).





4. Remove the parking brake return spring.
5. Remove the cable retaining clip (1).
6. Remove the cable (2) from the actuator lever.
7. Remove the rear wheel hub assembly.





8. Remove the parking brake bracket (5) from the support plate (4).
9. Remove the parking brake actuator (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the parking brake shoe and lining.





2. Install the parking brake actuator (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the parking brake bracket (5) to the support plate (4).
^ Tighten the support plate bolts (6) to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





4. Install the rear wheel hub assembly.
5. Install the cable (2) to the actuator lever.
6. Install the cable retaining clip (1).
7. Install the parking brake return spring (5).
8. Install the tire and wheel.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Adjust the parking brake.
