Instrument Panel (IP) - Tie Bar / Cross Vehicle Beam
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the battery ground negative cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel (IP) trim pad.
3. Remove the passenger side SIR inflator module.
4. Unclip the fuse block and position aside.
5. Remove the brake pedal bracket and reinforcement.
6. Remove the air distribution ducts.
7. Remove the retaining bolts and position the BCM bracket aside.
8 Release harness retaining clips and position the IP wiring harness out the way.
9. Remove the retaining bolts from the HVAC center module support bracket.
10. Remove the HVAC module center support bracket.
11. Remove the retaining bolts from the HVAC module upper support brackets
12. Remove the LH cross vehicle beam to hinge pillar bolts.
13. Remove the RH cross vehicle beam to hinge pillar bolts.
14. Remove the cross vehicle beam from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the cross vehicle beam to the vehicle.
2. Install the RH cross vehicle beam to hinge pillar bolts finger tight.
3. Install the LH cross vehicle beam to hinge pillar bolts finger tight.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
Tighten
Tighten the LH and RH cross vehicle beam bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
4. Install the retaining bolts to the HVAC module upper support brackets.
Tighten
Tighten the HVAC module upper support bracket bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
5. Install the HVAC module center support bracket.
6. Install the retaining bolts to the HVAC module center support bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the HVAC module center support bracket bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
7. Position the instrument panel (IP) wiring harness and install harness retaining clips.
8 Install the BCM bracket and the retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the BCM bracket bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
9. Install the air distribution ducts.
10 Install the fuse block to holder
11. Install the brake pedal bracket and reinforcement.
12. Install the passenger side SIR inflator module.
13. Install the IP trim pad.
