Set/Coast Switch

In order to use the Set/Coast function, observe the following notes:
^ The vehicle speed must exceed the low speed lockout point of 40 km/h (25 mph).
^ The Off/On/Resume/Accel Switch must be in the ON position.

The cruise control Set/Coast Switch (located in the end of the turn signal lever) has two positions:
^ Normal
^ Depressed

The Set Position
Depress and release the button switch. The cruise speed will set at the current speed of the vehicle. Cruise speed will be within 0.62 km/h (1 mph) of the vehicle's actual speed when the cruise control was engaged. (NOTE: The driver may no longer set the cruise with the RESUME button.) The system will cruise at the set speed until the driver does one of the following:
1. Moves the Off/On/Resume/Accel Switch to OFF
2. Turns off the ignition switch
3. Fully depresses and holds the Set/Coast Button
4. Presses the brake or the clutch pedal When the driver presses the brake or the clutch pedal, the cruise is released, but not the resume capability.

The Coast Position
With the button switch fully depressed, the driver may raise or lower his cruise speed. Complete the following steps in order to increase the cruise speed:
1. Accelerate to a new speed.
2. Fully depress the switch (the controller releases the previously set speed).
3. Release the button.

When the button is released, a new speed is set. The driver may also set an increased cruise speed by the Off/On/Resume/Accel Switch as previously described.

Complete the following step a in order to decrease the cruise speed:
1. Fully depress and hold the switch. The controller releases the previously set speed. The throttle returns to idle.
2. When the vehicle has slowed to the desired cruise speed, release the switch. The system engages at the lower speed.

The Tap-Down Position
In order to "tap-down":
1. Turn the cruise Off/On/Resume/Accel switch to the ON position. Set a cruise speed.
2. Quickly press the Set/Coast Button.
3. Quickly release, or "Cap" the button.
4. Do not hold the button in the depressed position or the system will revert to the Coast mode.

"Tap-down" is a function in which cruise speed may be decreased by 0.62 km/h (1 mph) increments (one tap 1 mph) decrease. The system can "tap-down" until it reaches the low speed lockout point of 40 km/h (25 mph), after which the cruise will not operate.

The driver may depress the accelerator at any time in order to override the cruise system. When you release the accelerator, the vehicle will return to the previously set cruise speed.
