Defroster Valve Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel pad.
3. Remove the air distribution duct.
4. Remove the valve housing cover from the module.
5. Remove the defrost valve actuator link from the defrost valve.
6. Remove the defrost valve from the module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the defrost valve to the module.
2. Install the defrost valve actuator link to the defrost valve.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the valve housing cover.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

4. Install the air duct.
5. Install the instrument panel pad.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
